Artist Statement
Scott Mayberry has been painting, drawing and sculpting since the 1980s, when he entered a ten-year stint of art education that left him with three degrees and a dark sense of humor.
His visceral work puts a twist on the ordinary in such a way that with his pieces, you have to look twice. He is drawn to the themes of mechanization, archetypes and the effects of vast systems on small beings. His work has received numerous awards, has been part of dozens of juried shows, and has been exhibited around the Pacific Northwest.
