Mary Mann

My practice centers on introspective, symbolic compositions that invite viewers to consider the emotional and relational parallels between people and the natural environment. I paint metaphors for human interaction, reflecting on themes of connection, resilience, and individuality within community. My landscapes draw from the forests and shorelines of the Pacific Northwest, where I find inspiration in science and the natural world.

I began my career as an illustrator and muralist, completing large-scale public and private commissions across the region. My roots in community-based projects remain strong, often involving youth collaboration and public engagement.  her studio practice now centers on introspective, symbolic compositions that invite viewers to consider the emotional and relational parallels between people and the natural environment.
