Meggan Joy

Meggan Joy is a self-taught photographic artist currently residing in Seattle, WA. Primarily focused on digital collage, she combines fragments of the natural sciences with her narratives and allegories; often weaving in symbols and motifs from art history to create a new surreal vision.

She fabricates this staged imagery from the ground up, growing most of her subject matter in her garden. Each piece is made by assembling thousands of individual photographs of botanicals, insects and other wildlife - resulting in a final image that is bursting with life and layered with hidden details and anecdotes.

Since emerging as an exhibiting artist in late 2015, this work has been featured in publications such as “Create Magazine” and has been recognized by the 2017 Moscow International Photography Awards with a bronze distinction in the collage category. You can find her imagery on public display internationally.
